Autumnal Gratitude Minute

This butterfly automatically gravitated to the flower closest to its own color
Taking just a tidbit of time for this post.

Fall is arriving!  Not a day too soon for my poor sweltering liking.
Here is a first hastily prepared, but nonetheless quite good soup.

Shell noodles, Knorr bullion, can of mixed veggies, can of cubed chicken, spices (went
accidently overboard on red pepper, but rescued most of the excess to avoid
complete firehouse hot overload), can of Cream of celery,
water...heat hot after first boiling the noodles --
add sprinkle of cheese -- enjoy.

These are my freakishly tall and longggg-lived zinnias.  They started out o so
slowly in the summer.  They grew.  I went away for 5 weeks -- they somehow LIVED
even tho they were only watered on what little rainfall came.  Talk about
a drought/heat tolerant variety!  I wonder if they are modified seeds, I have a
feeling they are.

Some are as tall as I am (5'7"), which is fairly tall for a female.

Can you see the stick-like praying mantis?  I'm not sure if it's actually living or not.  I
can't believe how it is hanging on with just the barest tips of it's limbs to that flower.
I think I'm going to give it a gentle poke and see if it is living.  I hated to disturb
it if it was in blissful siesta-mode!  (PS - it got wise to me and had gone on
to other things when I rechecked).

Another shot of the stick-like praying
mantis.  My daughter intensely dislikes the creature, but I find them curiously intriquing.
